Some of the most powerful magic doesn't happen on a stage. It happens in a quiet moment shared between two people. "Stellar" is built for exactly those moments.
You introduce a set of postcards wrapped in a rubber band. The first of the cards shows a classic optical illusion, a drawing that can be either an old woman or a young woman depending on your perspective.
Using this as an example of the power of perspective, they select one of the other cards, say the star. When you turn over the optical illusion, it reveals a poem that predicts their choice! But that isn't the only prediction. The first word of each line also spells out S, T, A, R. Even the other cards, images of a tree, a river, a valley, and some plants, are rearranged to spell out “star”. As the finale, you show that the rubber band that they've been holding the entire time has morphed into a star too!
Created by Derrick Chan and beautifully produced by Henry Harrius, "Stellar" is perfect for EDC. It resets instantly, is incredibly powerful, and is practically self-working. If you're looking for a new piece of social magic to play with, "Stellar" gets our recommendation. |

| Captivate
Signed card to an impossible location is a great effect, but not everyone wants to carry around a Mystery Box. For those who don’t, we have Christian Grace’s “Captivate”.
If this sounds familiar, it's because it was one of the standout hits from Blackpool 2026. It's also the cleanest card-to-hat we’ve seen.
A card is selected, signed, and lost back into the pack. You take off your hat, holding it by the fingertips, and show it completely empty. With just a little shake, a card appears inside. You remove the card, and impossibly, it's their signed selection. No palming, Mercury Card Folds, black art, or gimmicked hats. It’s that clean. |
