We are excited to announce that we have partnered with Rapido to bring you an EXCLUSIVE model of the SECR G Class, who operated five examples of this locomotive design from Neilson, Reid & Co that the GNSR were not able to purchase.
These locomotives along with the D40s (see below) share a fascinating history which is being replicated in full by Rapido from the early pre-grouping days, right through to preservation!
The models will be available in a variety of liveries, including two in full SECR Wainwright Green, one in SECR Grey, and two in Southern Olive Green. We have represented all 5 locos from the class throughout the range. Each version in the range includes detailed variations and exclusive tooling to accurately represent the SECR G Class throughout its lifetime, and set it apart from its GNoSR cousins. Rapido Trains UK have just announced a THIRD BATCH of their highly anticipated 'Evolution' Bogie Coaches in OO Gauge!
This third run expand the range even further covering more of Britain's railway companies with some new options that haven't been covered in the range previously!
What's more - we've got more EXCLUSIVE models available in this run covering some gorgeous SECR Wellington Brown and SECR red liveried vehicles - providing some excellent opportunities for you Southern Region modellers! |

In a busy week from Rapido we are also excited to reveal the next addition to the growing Scottish Legends range - the LNER Class D40 4-4-0 (originally GNSR Class V and Class F) in OO Gauge.
The Rapido Trains UK OO Gauge LNER D40 4-4-0 range includes tooling variations covering both the saturated boiler F Class and superheated V Class. The models will be available in a variety of liveries, from pre-grouping right through to BR, and of course, the legendary Gordon Highlander.
A small number of these locomotives were also sold to the SECR and classified as 'G Class' - which we are delighted to be offering as an EXCLUSIVE here at Rails! (see at the top of the page) |

Following the success of its first run of GWR 'Manor' Class locomotives, Accurascale have just announced the return of this highly popular series!
The second production run will include four new locomotives - including several iconic examples not previously offered.
The new models include 'Hinton Manor', 'Foxcote Manor', 'Lechlade Manor' and 'Odney Manor' in a mix of BR lined green and BR lined black liveries. Expected Q4 2026. |

Rapido Trains UK has announced that they are adding an exciting new tooled body for their existing 009 Gauge 'Sirdar' Class range; the brand-new ‘What If’ Short-Tank Sirdar Class 0-4-0! What's more - we've got our own EXCLUSIVE version available here at Rails!
Narrow gauge loco builders rarely had an off-the-shelf template; this was due to the varying needs and desires of the companies that placed the orders with them. So, there were many 'unique' locomotives with a general manufacturer design style. Taking inspiration from these, Rapido have developed their new highly detailed 009 Gauge models of Kerr, Stuart & Co. ‘What If’ Short-Tank Sirdar Class 0-4-0. This has design elements from several “real” locos, combining them into a prototypically literate model. |

This week we have received a eagerly awaited new line from Hornby the striking Class J13 presented in original Great Northern Railway apple green.
This release is part of Hornby's newly tooled range of J13 locos with this particular proving to be very popular on pre order. Another variation expected later this year. |

In the final of Rapido's pre-Railex announcements, they have announced the OO Gauge loco they have been teasing ‘U’ all about; the SR U Class 2-6-0!
This highly detailed OO Gauge rendition of the SR U Class will represent the locomotives that were part of the newly built batches. It will be available in a variety of guises, covering its Southern Railway and British Railways. |
