G'day to our American Mates,
It is with much regret that we have to inform you that we have temporarily suspended all orders going to the USA. Any customers attempting to ship to a US address via Popcultcha.com or our eBay sales channel will be unable to at this time. This is not our decision and is actually the last thing we want to do.
Australia Post have “temporarily suspended partial postal services to the United States (US) and Puerto Rico, effective immediately until further notice”. This suspension came into effect today, Tuesday 26 August 2025 AEST. We were given 12 hours notice of their decision to suspend all deliveries to the USA due to the impending tariffs coming into effect on 29 August 2025.
Unfortunately there seems to be a disconnect between Australia Post, USPS and the various government bodies as to how these tariffs are to be collected and current advice suggests that the burden will fall upon all eCommerce retailers to do so, rather than the postal networks worldwide. As such, we are working diligently on a way forward so that we can continue to service our US customers accurately and efficiently. As you can probably imagine, a product catalogue as large as Popcultcha's requires much consideration around the pending changes imposed by the USA.
What to do next?
If you have an order placed with us over the last week that has yet to ship, we are looking at some alternate ways of shipping this order to you efficiently and effectively, however it may attract a tariff due to the suspension of the de minimis USD$800 threshold exemption. You will hear from one of our staff or receive a DHL shipping notification over the coming days, if it is something we can ship using an alternate carrier. Please note some orders we will be unable to ship and if that is the case, we will contact you and refund your order as soon as possible.
Pre-Orders?
If you have a pre-order with us, we have no intention of cancelling your order at this point in time. The reason being is that this current situation is fluid and both Popcultcha and Australia Post are working on the issue and a solution, coupled with the fact that the situation may change at any moment from the USA end. As stock arrives we will deal with pre-orders on a case by case basis and our customer service team will reach out to you as soon as possible.
