Why should you care about World Breastfeeding Week? | | Hi Xa,
This World Breastfeeding Week (1-7 august), we’re championing the call to prioritize breastfeeding by building sustainable support systems.
When parents are supported, they’re empowered to choose the feeding journey that’s right for them.
Improving breastfeeding access could help save over 820,000 children’s lives each year¹. When chosen and possible, breastfeeding offers lifelong benefits:
• | Essential nutrition and immune protection for babies |
• | Reduced health risks for mothers | • | A more sustainable and equitable future for families and communities |
Yet nearly half the world still lacks access to essential health services and support¹.
