DAVE SMITH (Middle) “Lorenzo Manuelito loves riding technical, steep lines,” says photographer Eric Arce. “This zone on the Navajo Nation reminded me of the best slickrock in Moab, but even better because of all the history and the fact that I’m a visitor. I’d never seen a trail like this, and I felt honored to ride there.” ERIC ARCE (Bottom) In the desert, things tend to be over the top or under the radar: 15-foot-tall agave flowers and swarms of fist-sized toads, or smooth singletrack punctuated by stretches of ultra-chunk.
