The Two-Flashlight Problem
Most flashlight users end up carrying two lights. A spot beam for throwing light far, and a flood for seeing what's at their feet. Two holsters, two chargers, two batteries to manage.
The reason is how flashlights have always been built. If you wanted a spot, you needed one LED with a deep reflector behind it. If you wanted a flood, you needed multiple LEDs spread across a wider bezel.
Two different designs, two different lights. And if you bought a zoomable to try and get both, you got a twist lens with moving parts that eventually wore out or got stuck.
The new P27iX replaced the single LED with 20 individual micro-LEDs that switch electronically between spot, flood, and mixed beam. No moving parts, no twist lens, no compromise. One head does all three.
But the beam system isn't even the clever part.
