A prediction you need to see before you even think about believing
One diabolical prediction can change everything. Magicians have been working on their own solutions for performing the perfect prediction. One of our favorites is by one of magic's greatest minds: Max Maven's Psi-Con Ruse.
Psi-Con Ruse is delightfully fair. You tell your spectator that you've made one prediction. If you're feeling feisty, you can even call it a prophecy. You hand them one envelope with a single card inside while presenting them with 5 face-down cards.
You then give them a completely fair choice of which card they want. Once they've made their choice, you show them the four remaining cards. All different. Then, you show them their selection: the four of clubs.
Now, for maximum dramatic effect, you ask them to slowly remove the prediction card from its envelope, and behold the four of clubs.
This is as straightforward as predictions get, but that also means there is zero fat on this trick. A packet of cards, a prediction, and a free choice. There is nothing more magical than that!
