Beat all imaginable odds with this routine
Magic is (sometimes) an odds game. Even the most simple card trick, finding a spectator's card in a deck has a 1 in 52 chance of succeeding just by luck alone. What makes it magic is when it's repeatable.
Today, Matthew Wright invites you to play the odds with him and his new effect: Lucky 52.
Based on the childhood card game, Snap, Lucky 52 invites your audience to join you past the boundaries of improbable as you venture into impossible.
To start, you declare that you have a lucky card. You show them only the back, and it even has "lucky" written on it. That's set aside as you bring out the rest of the deck.
You deal face up from the deck, and the spectator can choose whenever they want to "snap". At that moment, they throw their hand down on the pile and the dealing stops.
You tell them that miraculously, their card will match your lucky one. You pull out your lucky card to reveal a gaff card with an entire deck printed on the front.
Technically, you've beaten the odds!
But the performance isn't over. The audience has only seen the faces of the cards after all. You show the backs of every single card in the deck, and they're all different...aside from the one they stopped on. That card is turned over to reveal it also says "lucky."
This routine requires no forcing; the spectator has a genuine free choice of cards. They can even change their mind.
Lucky 52 is available at any Murphy's Magic dealer, or you can check out with our featured dealer, dealer!
