So, why is it then that we make George Washington do double duty on the $1 bill and the quarter? Like everything else in life, it's so that we could do a cool magic trick. Josh Janousky noticed our first president was still working two jobs even 226 years after his death and realized that it was fodder for one of the most visually intriguing reveals we've ever encountered. Here's what he came up with. This is Arraignment. You show both a quarter and dollar bill, George barely able to contain his wooden smile on either. You place the bill in the spectator's hand as you make Washington's visage vanish from the coin. When your spectator unfolds the bill, they see that the portrait has been duplicated. Where once there was just one George Washington, now there are two "standing" back to back. You can work with pure sleight of hand, gimmick-assisted handling, or a handling built for maximum visual impact and absolute cleanliness. The methods are modular, so you can separate and recombine them for different conditions: standing, surrounded, or performing for the camera. Each performance can take on a fresh shape.
