Perfection takes time
More than any other type of magic, digital effects have to justify their existence. While an audience member might be unfamiliar with how small a sponge ball can get, they are very familiar with a smartphone's capabilities. That's why we haven't released an app in two years! We've been waiting for one to come along that really blew our minds. NOT.ESP by Jake Keane, now that's the real deal.
NOT.ESP is a drawing duplication system disguised as a notes app, and it is the most powerful version of this effect we have ever seen (digital or not).
Take out your phone and open the notes app. You use this virtual canvas to draw your prediction. Put your phone down and instruct your spectator to take out their own phone. Tell them that you are going to mentally transmit the image that you drew. They finish their drawing, and you instruct them to turn your phone over. The two drawings are a perfect match.
Now that's a great trick, but if I saw it performed, I would assume that the spectator's drawing was transmitted over Bluetooth. So what if I told you that they don't even have to use a phone? You could do the exact same effect, but have them draw in mid-air with their finger.
It's at that point that it no longer feels like a magic app, but rather a magic trick that uses an app as a prop. We have to agree with Mark Elsdon when he said it "was the best app available at Blackpool."
NOT.ESP is compatible with both Android and iOS devices. It requires no internet connection, works in any language, and even comes with an entirely different app that doubles the amount of magic you can perform.
NOT.ESP, is available for instant download from your favorite Murphy's Magic Dealer. Or, you can check out with our featured dealer: Monster Magic!
