We’ve sold over $20k of these LifeStraws water filter bottles today, which means you all think they’re a great deal, right? Well, not to pick on them, but the event spurred @Helmet0987 to ponder “Remember when meh was a deal?” which got us thinking about…deals.
Most places use ‘deal’ as a pure marketing term. We mean it for real—we actually don’t consider something a deal just because it sells well. And we don’t consider something a deal because it’s super cheap. Or even because it’s a huge discount off list price. What makes it a deal is if we’re making it available at an exclusively low price.
So how do we get something at an exclusively low price? The best way is to buy a ton. Ideally, every last one of them. That way we're fully solving a manufacturer’s challenges, and so they’ll give us (or, ok, we’ll demand) an amazing price on them. And then we’ll get you that exclusive low price—one you're not getting anywhere else because no one else was up for taking on the risk of taking on the entire inventory.
That risk is real. There are definitely times we’ve done a take-all, had an exclusive deal, and…flopped. But luckily, for us, and for you all, that time is not today. So grab a LifeStraw bottle at an actual, for real, deal.
