Bruce Goold (1948-2025) was an Australian artist, designer and master print-maker. Bruce once said to his friend, artist and fellow member of the Yellow House, George Gittoes, that Karl Huysmans anti-novel Against Nature was his roadmap to life: a story in which a Parisian aesthete creates and lives in an alternative world of art, beauty, and sensation to escape the ugliness and conformity of the world. Bruce's Palm Beach Home and Studio was just that.

His daughter Nancy uses the following analogy "Bruce was the Creative Director of his own life, ensuring everything around him looked like a film we all want to see. He did it all: interiors, set design, costumes, music and catering. All to curate the environment that he wanted to inhabit. His whole life was a work of art."
