WINTER CAMPING
TIPS.
Whether you’re braving the cooler temperatures, or planning your next camping adventure for the warmer months ahead, here’s a few tips from the Kiwi Camping team for the here and now:
👖 Layer up right
A good winter mission starts with the right layers—merino thermals, fleece, thick socks, a beanie… and socks with jandals if you must!
🔥 Stay warm at camp
If fires are allowed, a fire pit is the perfect way to warm up and wind down. No fire? A diesel or gas heater can do the job—just make sure it's safe for your setup.
😴 Don’t skimp on sleep gear
Get off the ground, use a thermal mat or foam layer under your mattress, and bring a sleeping bag rated to 0°C or colder.
📦 Store your gear right
Now’s the time to give your gear a once-over. Store it in a dry, well-ventilated space and use plastic tubs to keep things organized. Tip: hang your Kiwi Camping sleeping bag by the bottom tabs on a coat hanger to keep it lofty and ready for the next adventure.
🏡 Camp at home
Weather turned? Go classic—pitch a tent in the backyard or build a lounge fort. It’s all about keeping the camping spirit alive, rain or shine.
