One of the greatest living filmmakers has returned to the realm of science fiction, a genre in which he has already given us masterpieces such as Close Encounters of the Third Kind, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, Minority Report, and War of the Worlds. Judging by the reviews, Disclosure Day is yet another triumph.
Thematically, the film shares much with Close Encounters of the Third Kind, as Disclosure Day explores one of humanity’s most enduring questions: Are we alone in the universe? And if we discovered that we are not, how would we respond?
