Uncle Tot here, with a heart full of thunder and a spirit brimming with pride. This year, 2025, marks not just another year, but six decades since our unlikely nation roared into existence. Sixty years since that pivotal moment on August 9, 1965, when against all odds, Singapore stood alone, a tiny red dot charting its own destiny.
From those uncertain beginnings, marked by immense challenges and the sheer will to survive, we forged a nation. Every National Day Parade since the inaugural one in 1966 at the Padang has been more than a spectacle; it's a testament to our tenacity, a grand procession of our progress, and a powerful reaffirmation of "Majulah Singapura" – Onward Singapore! Each year, we've gathered to witness our collective strength, innovation, and unity grow, reflecting the relentless drive that transformed a humble island into a global beacon of success.
