Hayward’s Online Art Auction 22nd – 27th May, call for entries.
Hayward’s Auction House is preparing another of our very popular Art Auctions, and we would love to hear from anyone interested in selling art in any medium. The auction will run from May 22nd –- 27th, artworks will need to be in the auction rooms by 5:00pm May 9th to be included in the Online Art Auction.
Our twice-yearly sales have become a feature of the local art scene and with 10 years of experience holding art auctions in Dunedin, we have developed a reputation as a popular place for buyers to find great art, and a quick and cost-effective way for anyone wishing to sell items from their collection to find buyers at a fair market price.
We offer free appraisals for anyone interested in selling artworks at auction, so if you have any pieces of art in any medium that you would like to sell, please get in touch. Artist Resale Royalty Scheme
All seller’s and buyer’s need to be aware that the Artist Resale Royalty Scheme came into force on December 1st, 2024. If the artwork has a resale value of over $2000 the Resale Royalty Scheme may apply. For qualifying artworks that sell for over $2000, a resale royalty of 5% will be paid by the seller, in addition to the auction house vendor’s commission.
For buyers, the 5% royalty will take effect later if you should later decide to resell the artwork and it meets the resale criteria. This legislation ceases to exist 50 years after the death of the artist.
