Fifty years ago this June, Steven Spielberg brought the terror of the deep to the silver screen with his summer blockbuster Jaws, striking fear into the hearts of untold scores of beach-bound vacationers. Also making waves was Roger Kastel's artwork for the movie's poster. On March 28, 1977, at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in Los Angeles, Muhammad Ali famously surprised Sylvester Stallone as he was preparing to present the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. "I'm the real Apollo Creed," Ali joked before the duo began a playful onstage sparring session. This press photograph from the ceremony captures Ali and Stallone, who was nominated that year for his leading role in Rocky, in front of a life-size Oscar statue.
