Dear Greetings,
Our recent Design auctions achieved outstanding results - including two world auction records - and realized a combined total of more than $2 Million. On May 14, we held our Pursuit of Beauty: Art Nouveau, Art Deco and Art Glass Auction, featuring furniture, lighting, glass, ceramics, sculpture and ephemera from the early 20th century. Highlights included Art Deco masterworks from Albert Cheuret,
Emile Ruhlmann,
and Edgar Brandt and a strong selection of Tiffany Studios lamps. The following day, we presented two consecutive Modern Design auctions - Where Magic Begins: The Collection of Jenette Kahn & Al Williams and Design.
World auction records were set for works by Alex Locadia and Evelyn Ackerman, and strong prices were achieved for George and Mira Nakashima furniture, contemporary glass, and more. Together, the results reflect the strength of 20th & 21st century Design within the auction market and Heritage's ability to connect the finest pieces and collections to our ever-expending international audience.
