Guest curated by renowned dealer and gallerist Jonathen LeVine, our July 16 Urban Art Signature® Auction, Provocateur, is a celebration of Urban Art's most iconic and influential creators. From Shepard Fairey's politically charged Flag HPM and Blek le Rat's Peace
stencil on linen to James Jean's dreamlike Bowler (Vessel) and Audrey Kawasaki's elegant If Only You Knew, Provocateur spans a range of mediums and styles. "Urban Art has roots in hip-hop, graffiti, skate culture and comics, but it has evolved to include pop surrealism, street activism and deeply personal narratives,"
says LeVine. "This auction is a snapshot of that evolution."

Website Tips: Bid Protection
|
Bid Protection allows you to ensure you are not outbid by automatically increasing your bid to the next full increment if you are outbid during the live event. This protects you from being "sniped" by a single increment. Bid Protection can be entered on all items except the current lot and the next upcoming lot in a Live Auction.
Note: The extra increment won't be placed until the item is up for live bidding, so it is possible that you could be outbid by a bid placed prior to live bidding, such as another proxy bid, live proxy bid, mail bid, etc., which could result in your losing the lot by that one increment. For the same reason, it is also possible that a currently losing bid with bid protection placed could potentially win the lot once the lot is subject to live bidding and the Bid Protection increment(s) is placed.

Heritage Auctions is proud to present a landmark collection of original movie poster artwork by Bob Peak, the visionary illustrator who redefined the genre and inspired generations of designers and filmmakers. From the operatic chaos of Apocalypse Now to the mythic beauty of
Excalibur and the electric joy of
Hair, this curated offering includes 12 stunning, large-format original paintings that represent the full range and brilliance of Peak's career. Heritage is honored that the family of Bob Peak has entrusted it with the privilege of presenting the selection, which kicks off Heritage's sweeping July 16-18 Hollywood/Entertainment Signature® Auction.
Often credited as the "Father of the Modern Movie Poster," Bob Peak transformed the way films were marketed. His expressive, cinematic style combined dynamic and layered composition to evoke the emotional core of a story in a single unforgettable image. His draftsmanship is undeniable, and his gift for capturing faces, along with his color and compositional prowess, are unmatched. In person, his original works for illustration are gorgeous - their surfaces and textures are luxurious - and the lushness of his work invites the eye to travel. From the 1960s through the 1980s, Peak created some of the most iconic key art in film history - including posters for West Side Story, My Fair Lady, Camelot, Superman, Star Trek and Apocalypse Now.
