Danish 20th Century stoneware
Online Auction: 16 September 7 pm | |
Axel Salto, Christian Poulsen, Gertrud Vasegaard, Arne Bang, and Saxbo – the ceramic artists and workshops are richly represented at the current Online Auction.
Here, we have gathered a wide selection of classic Danish stoneware from the 1930s to the 1980s. These decades marked a special era where old traditions, craftsmanship, and artistic talent fused together in the most beautiful glazes and forms.
The small ceramic art pieces from that time stand as symbols of the Danish design tradition and are today highly sought after among collectors and interior enthusiasts worldwide.

Borgen's Collection |
"Seriousness, joy, despair, sensuality, and jubilant colours side by side provide a variety of sensory experiences."
This was the words of publisher Jarl Borgen. Over a period of 50 years, he built his extensive art collection, which included works by more than 130 Danish and international artists. The collection was part of the interior at the Borgen publishing house – a total work of art on a grand scale. Now, we are putting part of the collection up for auction.

Rare photographs of Hans Christian Andersen |
Most people know Hans Christian Andersen from his fairy tales. But did you know that he was once Denmark’s most photographed celebrity? His enthusiasm for the new technology was expressed with the words, “Oh, our Time is the Golden Age of Inventions.”
In total, he was immortalized 214 times, and as a heavy user of the medium, Andersen had a habit of giving away his portraits in cabinet card size, often signed and with a little greeting. Now, a series of these portraits from the Danish Photography Museum are up for auction.
