This is my senorio. I have a laptop that I want to have the user log in with normal user rights. I want to leave UAC active. When this person needs to elevate the credentials in order to apply upgrades to software or install plug-ins and so on. I want that user to be able to elevate their permissions to a "Local Admin" account not a "doman admin" account. I have created a local admin account on the system but when it comes time to elevate the permissions (such as reorganizing the start menu) The only credentials it asks for is a domain admin account. How can I have the local admin login automatically come up? TIA
The local administrator account will not come up. You will have to input it. For instance, say the machine name is HP. When the credentials dialog comes up, in the username field you have to input HP\Username and then the password.
