I have a Vista x64 machine. Vista detects my printer (HP G55xi) and I can print OK to it. After some time passes, if I try to print again the status just shows as "Error-Printing". If I restart the machine, the document will print. I have tried reinstalling the driver for the printer, I determined Vista contains a basic driver for the printer. After printing and waiting some, I can no longer print. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks -- PeterSa
Can anyone out there help me? -- PeterSa
Is this connected USB or LPT? Either way, make sure that the Device Manager does not place the port in sleep mode -- Alan Morris Windows Printing Team Search the Microsoft Knowledge Base here: http://support.microsoft.com/search/?adv=1 This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights. It is connected to the USB port. I went into Device Manager and ensured each USB Root hub does not have the "Allow the computer to turn off to save power" checked. -- PeterSa
So I decided to move the printer over to my WinXP machine and then share out. I am now able to print from my Vista machine. But I can't scan, unless the printer is local. So I either need to figure why I can't print from Vista when local or scan when remote. -- PeterSa
Definately seems putting the machine into Sleep mode causes the problem. Does anyone know how to fix this issue? After in Sleep mode document just get stuck and you can't restart the Print Spooler. -- PeterSa
