Vista cant find drivers for deskjet 5740

Vista cant find drivers for deskjet 5740

I have a hp deskjet 5740 printer. On my computer (windows vista home
premium) it detects the printer but cannot find the drivers for it and
this printer works on my sisters laptop which has vista aswell. Please
Help.

Try the XP drivers.

I would start by adding the printer manually - go to Start, Control Panel, 
Printers, Add Printer, Local, LPT1, then select the HP Deskjet 5700 Series 
out of the list.  Once the printer has been added right click on it, select 
Properties, Ports and select the appropriate USB or DOT4 port rather then 
the LPT1 port it was set up with.
