The HP Color Laserjet cp1215 which is shared from an XP PC prints fine from 3 XP PC's. The Vista PC (running Vista Home Premium Service Pack 1) can send text documents which print OK, but if I send a graphics file from the Vista PC, the file appears in the HP's queue, then just disappears after 20 seconds or so without the printer's ever indicating that it was even trying to print. WHAT I HAVE DONE: I downloaded and placed the Vista print drivers on the Vista PC; I then deleted the Laserjet from the PC and readded it - so it would use the proper driver. This didn't help at all. Thanks for any assistance - Linda -- Linda44 Posted via http://www.vistaheads.com
Dangerously assuming that you have the same application on (one of the) XP boxes, will the file print correctly, preferably from the box with the printer attached? Again, assuming you can attach the printer directly to the Vista box, will the file print correctly that way? Let us know. -- Tom MSMVP 1998-2007 "Linda44" wrote in message news:Linda44.3ffvgd@no-mx.forums.vistaheads.com... > > The HP Color Laserjet cp1215 which is shared from an XP PC prints fine > from 3 XP PC's. Thanks - yes, both PCs have the needed application and the graphic file prints from the PC directly attached to the Laserjet. I spoke at length with HP support, trying different fixes, and was finally told that this is a communication problem between Vista and the HP about which I must ask Microsoft. HP also said that this type of problem in printing from Vista is very common. I will be out of the office until Monday and will try then to attach the remote PC directly to the HP Laserjet. - Linda -- Linda44 Posted via http://www.vistaheads.com
