I have a Windows Vista Home Premium system on a peer to peer network with all other WinXP machines. This computer is in an area where it is to be used as a guest computer. It is also used by users who need access to the local network. I have setup 4 profiles. 1 guest profile that does not require a password and 3 password protected profiles for other users. I need to keep the guest account off of the workgroup while allowing the other profiles access to the workgroup. I have tired changing workgroups in the guest account but that changes the entire computer to the other workgroup. Anyone know of a way to accomplish what I need to do?
You may want to create a group policy to restrict the guess account. This how to may help. Group Policy To use Group Policy to Hide local drives, open Group Policy>User Configuration> Administrative Templates>Windows Components> Windows Explorer. ... www.chicagotech.net/group%20policy.htm -- Bob Lin, MS-MVP, MCSE & CNE Networking, Internet, Routing, VPN Troubleshooting on http://www.ChicagoTech.net How to Setup Windows, Network, VPN & Remote Access on http://www.HowToNetworking.com "JohnW" wrote in message news:DA249C75-691C-4CBD-8AEF-3517021ED989@microsoft.com... >I have a Windows Vista Home Premium system on a peer to peer network with >all > other WinXP machines. > > This computer is in an area where it is to be used as a guest computer. > It > is also used by users who need access to the local network.
