I have a really odd problem with all mail applications and the microsoft newsgroups on Vista. This only occurs with Vista. So far I have uninstalled and reinstalled WM (windows Mail), Installed WLM (windows Live Mail) and installed Mozilla's Bluebird (nice for reading gmail by the by). All of them show the same problem of not being able to download certain messages from the microsoft.public. groups. One of the reasons I am posting here is that it is one of the few rooms in which I have easily been able to read more than a few messages.
