Memory question.
I have an Asus Striker II NSE motherboard running a Quad Core Q9450
processor. I put 4gig Kingston DDR3 1066 in it and had no issues with it.
I installed 2 DDR 3 1300Mhz 1 gig modules and it says they are running @
1300 MHZ. I purchased 4-GIG (2 2-gig)Corsair 1600 Mhz modules and it shows
them running at 1067Mhz. Now I know it won't go any faster than the CPU
speed ( 1300 Mhz in this case), but why doesn't it run at 1300 Mhz?

Not really liking this Asus board, I purchased a Intel DX48BT2 motherboard
and while trying to set the memory to what it shows on the sticker, the
voltage and the timing it won't boot. I am back running the original
1067Mhz Kingston memory.

I am not sure if this memory is defective or not. I noticed while in the
bios on this Intel board it saw the memory @1600 MHZ, but the timings are
not what it says on the sticker. I don't know who to believe, the sticker
or the bios.

Appreciate any ideas.

Thanks

..Chip..

Re: Memory question.
The bios would state the memory description that it is reading from the
slot it has been placed. I could be an issue with the memory. I have a
memory stick in the BIOS it would show as 1gb but the sticker states as
512mb. I would advise you to download CPUZ software & check. What is the
speed the memory is running on.
