How delete 'Read Only' files from CD-RW's
Vista 64bit / XP Professional SP3

I don't remember this being a problem in the past, but at the moment I
can't change the attributes of, or get rid of 'Read Only' files on my
CD-RW's.

I haven't succeeded deleting, erasing or formatting with Vista or XP OS,
or with Nero. Is there a way, or a utility to do this? Thanks for your
help, IM

XP and Vista don't have support for CD-RWs builtin, that has to come
from a third-party program, like Nero. To use a CD-RW like a huge
floppy disk, which is apparently what you want to do, you have to have
"packet driver" software running. That should be somewhere in your
Nero package.

You must copy the files on a CD to your hard drive
in order to make changes. CD's have always been
"read only". CD-ROM = "Compact Disc - Read Only Memory".

<sigh> NOT if a CDRW has been formatted for packet writing.......

RE: How delete 'Read Only' files from CD-RW's
I use nero 6.6 in XP.
When you open it, click on the "More" button down the bottom.
That has the "Erase" option.
