Pocket PC Compatilibity
Not sure if my previous post works, but trying again.

I'm trying to sync my iPaq 1900 series PDA with my new Vista laptop, but am
getting a sneaking suspicion (sp?) that it is not compatible. It doesn't
show up on the Mobile Device sync list with the Vista software, and I don't
see it on the compability list.

Any suggestions? Surely there's some way to sync this device?!!

Thanks,
Todd

Re: Pocket PC Compatilibity
If your 1900 has Windows Mobile 2003 it should sync if you install
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/en-us/help/synchronize/device-center.mspx

If your 1900 has Windows Mobile 2002, it is not compatible.

Re: Pocket PC Compatilibity
I checked the OS version on my PDA, and see "Windows CE 3.0". Not sure if
that's the same as Windows Mobile 2003. Any ideas?

See http://www.hpcfactor.com/support/cesd/h/0040.asp
I think you are out of luck and your iPAQ1900 is not compatible.

You may be able to get a ROM upgrade to Windows Mobile 2003, but HP no
longer sell it so you will have to try EBay or an iPAQ repairer.

Re: Pocket PC Compatilibity
The other option is a third-party sync solution "IF" your device has any
connectivity to the internet. If your 1900 can connect to the internet
either via wifi or the cradle, then look at EMOZE www.emoze.com. Install
on the pc and the ipaq. It will sync your email, calendar, contacts and
notes without activesync.
