"desktop background feature disabled"
My desktop is black, and when I go into the Control Panel to change it,
I get a message that says it is disabled and to check with the
administrator (ME!). When my daughter logs into her user account, all
is well for her, so it's just in my user account.
I've done an exhaustive Google search, and downloaded & ran the
following:
1. My Trend Micro Anti-virus
2. CCleaner
3. Spybot
4. Super Antivirus
All found suspicious malware/trojans/adware, etc., and did manage to
get rid of a RunDLL error I was getting upon start-up, but nothing has
fixed this disabled desktop background problem I'm having.
I found a tutorial in this Vista forum that I believe could be my
answer, and I started the process, but got a little nervous after my
first download when I received a warning message....I just want to be
sure I'm not going to screw up my computer!
Could someone direct me -- and reassure my fears?
Thanks
