After Silverlight install, Windows no longer boots
I downloaded and installed Silverlight, and then restarted my HP machine with
Windows Visat Home Premium. It never restarted. I have tried Startup
Repair, as well as using various system restore points, all to no avail. The
Systeme restor points finalize, and then tries to restart, and I never get
Windows back, just a blank screen.

Any ideas? next step is to try to restore to factory condition, but I lose
all my CDs, videos, pictures, etc. :( so very hesitant to do that. I spent
nearly the last two weeks recording everything onto this machine.

I'd do some sleuthing here:

Hi,

I'd change the drive and reinstall Vista. Then, assuming the directory
of the first one is in good shape, you know that your media is on
there somewhere and can probably be salvaged. Drives don't cost the
earth and it is alway a good thing to have another one around. On the
other hand if you can fit the dodgy one to another machine you may be
able to do the same trick.

Best of luck - Joe
