Newbie here..need some help please read on   
My system is a HP Pavilion a6325
Running on Vista Home Premium 32 bit
Processor Type  Intel Core 2 Duo 2.2 GHz 
Graphic Processor  NVIDIA GeForce 8500GT

I have only had this PC for 2/3 months if that.
two of my games i played on my old xp system won't install
on this new system.
Doom 3
Star Wars Battlefront
can anyone give me some info on how to install please?

you don't mention what error message windows gives you when you try to 
install the games.

Many games that played fantastically well on XP won't play at all on Vista, 
at least not without the proper extensions that not all games have 
available. You'll have to find the extensions for those games yourself and 
they may be third party, shareware or freeware, but they could be out there. 
I was able to load all of my Tomb Raider games onto Vista thanks to Vista 
extensions made by fan programmers, but for anything you need you'll have to 
find them individually. Maybe the game manufacturer has made their own 
available? Good luck.

I didn't have any problems installing Doom3. Have you tried running the
setup with run as admin.

hmm.. My Vista run TR2 without any extensions. What did you mean?

Mine had problems. It would not boot. No window. Nothing. Wouldn't even 
load. But the extensions available through www.tombraiders.com work 
marvelously well. They were made just for this.

Hmm, maybe the matter in video drivers? Here is ATI HD3470 (with Catalyst drivers).

I just installed TR3, and TR4 to check. No problems whatsoever. Strange.
