Re: System Shock 2
Hi I am having problems with this game. When ever it tries to play a
video file cutscene or credits then ss2 crashes. when i try to register
Lgvid.ax then I get the error message LoadLibrary(lgvid.ax)failed - The
specified module could not be found. Does anyone know what this means or
how to fix?

I can run this game, no problem, but I forget how to get the videos
working correctly. The problem is the videos are encoded using this
codec (indeo5) and the newest version of this codec can't play the
videos, so you have to use an older codec to get them to playback
correctly.

Vista just has issues with this one. That fix you did usually does not
work.

You could try moving the lgvid.ax file to somewhere like
c:\windows\system32 and registering the file there. Make sure when you
try to register the file that you put the full path to the lg file.

I had it working on a previous Vista installation, but on my new setup I
can't get it to work, but my game doesn't crash at cutscenes it just
skips them. Almost just as bad.

Check the patches people recommend for WinXP, see if that helps. There
are a ton of Mods online. I think someone re-encoded the videos to DivX
format. Someone was talking about making new videos as well.

good site for everything SS2 and Thief stuff.

There's a file called SS2 Tool that you can find at the ttlg.com site
forums, you should check it out apparently it patches the SS2 files
automatically and makes sure your system is setup for video playback. I
was going to test it over the weekend, but...

I CAN'T FIND MY SS2 CD! *curls into a ball on the floor sucking thumb*

Withdrawals...
