safe to install Directx 9c?
i just got a new pc, and when i tried to install and play medieval 2
total war, it would not work.... i have looked on the internet and found
that the problem is that it wont run with directx 10. but is it safe to
install directx 9c??, wont it mess up my other games that are running on
directx 10, or games that will come in the future???.

I don't think there is a problem with both on the system.

Hmm... can you even install DirectX 9c on a Vista machine? I thought
that Vista = DirectX 10.x+?

Nope, quite safe to install DX9c onto a Vista machine. It will help a
lot of games that are a few years old, to run without hassles.

Quite harmless and I have done it on 4 Vista machines, including 64 bit.

As already said, it will not mess up your DX10 installation, you could
even do better by installing the latest DX redist from

find the dxwebsetup.exe it'll make sure you have DirectX 1-10.1 installed
and up to date on your system.

No it does not mess anything up.
