Hi, On advice from another thread I tried using SyncToy to back up documents to an external hard drive. After one successful go, the next times it only says "exception during run: the File Sync Provider received an unexpected error while applying a synchronised change" and fails to perform the back-up. I made a new folder pair and tried that and the same again. Any clues what to do??? Reading other comments it seems that an earlier version of SyncToy was better.... -- andyalchemist

I do have Nero which offers a back-up facility which seems to work well, and can be scheduled. Any advice or experiences with that?? -- andyalchemist
