Event ID 28005 from MSSQLSERVER when Discovering
Hi,

I have getting the following entries in the Applications Log on the SCOM
2007 SP1 server when "Discovery is in Progress" in the Discovery Wizard:

Event Type:	Error
Event Source:	MSSQLSERVER
Event Category:	(2)
Event ID:	28005
Date: 8/5/2008
Time: 5:02:04 PM
User: N/A
Computer:	SGP01-SCM01
Description:
An exception occurred while enqueueing a message in the target queue. Error:
15404, State: 19. Could not obtain information about Windows NT group/user
'TITANNAS\svc_om_mgradm', error code 0x5.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.
Data:
0000: 65 6d 00 00 10 00 00 00 em......
0008: 0c 00 00 00 53 00 47 00 ....S.G.
0010: 50 00 30 00 31 00 2d 00 P.0.1.-.

0030: 65 00 72 00 00 00 e.r...

I did get the following Alert after installing SCOM 2007:

The SQL Server Service Broker or Database Mirroring transport is disabled or
not configured

Although on checking the Service Broker as detailed in KB 941409, the
Service Broker status is enabled.

Any solution/feedback would be very appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Mohammed Noor

Hi Mohammed,

Please take a look at this KB

The discovery process does not find computers that are present in your domain
in Operations Manager 2007

Re: Event ID 28005 from MSSQLSERVER when Discovering
Hi Anders,

Thanks for the information. I had implemented the solution yesterday and
managed to resolve the issue; we'll be scheduling to start deploying the
agents today.
