Hi Fellas: I'm trying to upgrade my bare-bones installation of SCOM 2K7 to SP1 and it gives me the following error on the RMS: Error 25380. Upgrade failed to remove AEM overrides from default MP, upgrade will complete please refer to documentation on how to remove these Overrides. I only installed a few management packs before trying the upgrade. I have the RMS server and the SQL 2K5 db server configured. I also tried stopping the three services and I get the same error message. Please advise. Thanks!
Make sure your database has PLENTY of free space. Dont stop any services. Then... 1. Navigate to the following folder: %systemroot%\Assembly (Typically: C:\Windows\Assembly) 2. Right click on the "Microsoft.MOM.Common" file and choose "Uninstall" 3. Rerun the SP1 setup 4. The Setup should finish this time without any errors or warnings. I ran into the same error. What it turned out was that three services were not started when I did the upgrade: 1. OpsMgr Config Service 2. OpsMgr Health Service 3. OpsMgr SDK Service Make sure these services are all started and running before performing the upgrade. Mine were set to "automatic" but didn't start after a reboot for some reason. It all works fine now. "KingBuzzo" wrote: > I don't seem to have a "Microsoft.MOM.Common" > > I only have a: "Microsoft.Mom.RecorderBar" > > >
In my case all the services were running. I also tried stopping them with no luck. I ended up re-installing from scratch as it was non-functional after the failed SP. So now I have it installed (still with no SP or solution). :( "Ceseuron" wrote: > I ran into the same error. I was able to fix my issue (identical to yours) by deleting the file: C:\Program Files\System Center Operations Manager 2007\EventCommon.dll "KingBuzzo" wrote: > In my case all the services were running. > > I also tried stopping them with no luck. > > I ended up re-installing from scratch as it was non-functional after the > failed SP. > > So now I have it installed (still with no SP or solution). > > :( > > "Ceseuron" wrote: > > > I ran into the same error. Interesting... How did you come across this fix? After unsuccessfuly trying to apply this service pack three times and subsequently re-installing SCOM from scratch after each attempt, I am content just to wait and take my chances with SP2. Thanks... :S "OBSLindon" wrote: > I was able to fix my issue (identical to yours) by deleting the file: > > C:\Program Files\System Center Operations Manager 2007\EventCommon.dll > > "KingBuzzo" wrote: > > > In my case all the services were running. > > > > I also tried stopping them with no luck. > > > > I ended up re-installing from scratch as it was non-functional after the > > failed SP. > > > > So now I have it installed (still with no SP or solution). > > > > :( > > > > "Ceseuron" wrote: > > > > > I ran into the same error. I checked the upgrade log and it was saying that it couldn't replace this file. It was a fresh install, so i figured i'd try it. After I deleted the file, I was able to install SP1. Have not noticed any issues so far.
