Unable to upgrade Reporting to SP1 RTM
I currently have two server dedicated to OpsMgr, one for the sql2005 db and
one for the RMS. Both servers are Windows Server 2003 R2 Std with SP2.

Previously (Nov I think) both server were upgraded to SP1 RC, which
installed fine. Now we want to upgrade to SP1 RTM, the RMS server upgraded
fine. The DB server upgraded the OpsMgr portion fine, but OpsMgr reporting
fails with a "Prerequisite Check Did Not Pass" . When I view the log, it
says that MS SQL Server 2005 SP1 failed, but it also tells me to install a
trial version ???

That DB server has SP2 currently installed, including GDR 3054 for both Sql
Database Services and Reporting.

Also I am able to browse to http://localhost/reports and see content.

Any help will be appreciated, I really don't want to un-install SQl if I can
help it.

Hi Graham,

Please take a look at this post and make sure that is a supported upgrade
patch http://blogs.technet.com/momteam/archive/2008/02/26/agent-upgrade-from-sp1-rc-build-6246-to-sp1-rtm-build-6278.aspx

Re: Unable to upgrade Reporting to SP1 RTM
So this was interesting, but not entirely my fault. I wasn't involved in the
original deployment.

The fix: enable and start SQL Browser, then install works fine.

Regards,
Graham
