I am receiving the "Agent Proxying needs to be enabled" event for several machines. I've read the articles that said this setting needs to be enabled for SQL servers in a cluster, domain controllers and exchange servers. the machines in questions do not fit into any of these categories. If i enable proxying on the machines the alert obviously stops. i would like to know why this alert is being thrown, and if it's ok to simply set an event action that when this alert is thrown a script runs that enables the proxy setting on the machine by the GUID from the error. the only MP's i have imported are the Dell MP (v3) and the windows server 2003 MP. Thanks
You can use the SQL scripts here to determine why a certain computer thinks it needs proxying enabled: http://blogs.msdn.com/mariussutara/archive/2007/11/09/agent-proxying-alert.aspx Or if you prefer powershell: http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/yli628/archive/2008/07/21/powershell-script-to-identify-agent-which-needs-to-have-quot-proxying-quot-enabled.aspx Cheers Graham "NPopovich" wrote in message news:5F4D2E86-3005-441E-B34F-A1B2A9FF0D5F@microsoft.com... >I am receiving the "Agent Proxying needs to be enabled" event for several > machines.
