Applying SP1 RTM to Gateway
Hi,
Having a strange issue after applying SP1 RTM to our DMZ Gateway server.

When we applied SP1 to the gateway server it seems like it half upgraded it.
When we go to the registry and look at the version of scom, it says its
6.0.6278.0. But the healthservice.exe still says 6.0.5000 as well as the
SCOM Console says the gateway server is at 6.0.5000.

When we try to re-run the SP1 update, we get the following errors when the
installer is writing system registry value.

"Error 1406. Could not write value Port to key\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft
Operations Manager\3.0\Server Management Groups\. System error."

There is an option to Retry, Cancel, Ignore.

When I click cancel, the install rolls back and then an error screen comes
up saying "The setup failed. Do you want to open the setup log file (search
for "value 3" in the file for locating failure)?"

I'm sure this is not a permissions issue as I am installing SP1 with an
Administrator account. Any have similar issues or know a resolution?

Thanks!

Trevor

Can you attach your setup log?

Re: Applying SP1 RTM to Gateway
Hi Rob,

I actually uninstalled the gateway component, and then reinstalled from
scratch.

When I ran the SP1 (RTM) Gateway update, it ran successfully, and I verified
the version in the registry.

However, I did notice that the Health Agent did not update. Is it supposed
to update as well when running the Gateway Update, or does the Agent also
have to be manually updated?

Thanks,

Trevor
