Re: Pop up or ?
From: "M.Butzin"
| Hello All,
| I hope this is the correct NG for these questions if not point me to the
| correct one and away I'll go, Running Vista home Prem.
|
| When ever this popup comes this is the address to a solicitation for
| software, then a short time later I get a notice that my pc has a virus name
| Trojan downloader. I ran Spybot search and Destroy and it picked up
| Virtumonde and now antispyware2007, I have had trouble logging on to some
| secure sites Light company, bank, etc. I downloaded the MS windows malicious
| software removal tool which was a joke, now I get a popup that the "system
| integrity scan wizard" has found critical errors in the windows registry and
| file system which takes me to the "PC Cleaner" website. Which is one in the
| same listed below, what do I use to remove this junk? Spybot S&D finds these
| every time and they keep coming back.

3 phase answer...
Perform Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3
It is suggested that you execute each tool in Normal Mode then in Safe Mode.
If you are using any version of Sun Java that is prior to JRE Version 6.0,
then you are strongly urged to remove any/all versions.
There are numerous vulnerabilities in them and they are actively being exploited.
It is highly suggested that you update to the latest version which is Sun Java JRE/JSE
Version 6.0 update 5 (jre 6u5)
Simple check, look under...
C:\Program Files\Java
The only folder under that folder should be the latest version.
Such as...
C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.6.0_05
