adding a DeskBand/ExplorerBar to the NavigationPane in Vista
Hi,

I have a deskband based explorer bar that works well with XP and some
previous versions of windows.
It also loads fine in Vista, but it loads to the left of the navigation pane
(where the "Folders" & "Favorite Links" reside), I'm guessing because the
Navigation Pane is some implementation of an Outlook-Like bar.

How do I add my bar to the Navigation Pane? I could not find anything on the
subject, but i did notice when installing Office 2007 - that if i choose to
install the "Research Bar" it will add itself there, so i am guessing there
is a way to add bars.

RE: adding a DeskBand/ExplorerBar to the NavigationPane in Vista
Hello Tom,

Based my discussion with shell developers for Windows Vista, we have not
found an workaround to replace the whole navigation pane in Vista Explorer.
If your Windows Explorer does not behave like that, would you send a
screenshot to my mailbox (jialge@online.microsoft.com, remove 'online.')?
If you need further assistance, feel free to let me know. I will be more
than happy to be of assistance.

Have a great day!

Regards,
Jialiang Ge (jialge@online.microsoft.com, remove 'online.')

Re: adding a DeskBand/ExplorerBar to the NavigationPane in Vista
Hello Jialiang,

As requested I have emailed you with the relevant screenshot and
explanation.
Just in case my previous explanation wasn't clear, what I meant is that I DO
want the Navigation Pane functionality for my deskband - the problem is that
my deskband is not appearing within the navigation pane, but to the left of
it.

Thank you for your help.

Tom Keidar.
