Questions regarding traditional VPN
Hello all,

I dont know whether it is the right place but I have some questions
regarding traditional VPNs.

1. If a company have many branch offices located at different cities. Then
how usually they enable the computers at their brance offices to be part of
a sing virtual private network? I assume that PCs at office A, when wants to
connect to VPN, will connect with server A (located at office A) and PCs at
office B, when wants to connect to VPN, will connect with server B (located
at office B). While server A and B will be connected with each other via
some lease line.

2. Can the connection between server A and server B be any VPN connection
other than lease line?

3. How the data will be routed between computers in both the offices for the
following two scenarios.

a) PC1 at office A sends something to PC2 at office A (in the same office)?
Whether the data will go directly from PC1 to PC2 or PC1 -> Server A -> PC2?

b) PC1 at office A sends something to PC3 at office B?

Thanks,

Arsalan

Re: Questions regarding traditional VPN
Generally vpn mean secure communication over internet, that mean that you
have to have VPN
client on your computer ( at home ) and you can talk to VPN server ( at
work ).
