IP identification
Hello,

I'm looking to the building of IP headers
Does anybody know where to find information about "identification" field
(which is used to uniquely identify an IP packet, without and with
fragmentation) ?
For examples, I would like to know which algoritm define its value...how to
get it and to set back its value ? to reset counter ?

Any URL pointer would be appreciated.

Thanks
jdx

Re: IP identification
The best I can offer, because RFC 791(http://www.faqs.org/rfcs/rfc791.html)
didn't describe deliberately that to check that with some sniffer:
ethereal, netmon ...
