Disconnected Network Drive at logon
I have Windows XP Home Edition Version 2002 Service Pack 2.

I have a network drive that had 'Reconnect at logon' checked when I created
the mapping. When I start Windows and log on, it is still mapped (I think
that is what 'Reconnect at logon' actually means) and is initially shown as
"Disconnected Network Drive" in Windows Explorer. As soon as I open the
folder in Windows Explorer, it connects and it is shown as "Network Drive".

This behaviour appears to be a problem for HP's "Transfer Images" software
which will not work unless the drive is actually connected already. I will
report this to HP (who have so far had me just re-map the drive over and
over and are not really listening to me). However, is there a workaround I
can use, such as a way to force the drive to be connected at logon?

This occurs on a laptop with a wireless network connection. It does not
occur, all other relevant factors being the same, on a computer with a wired
network connection. I think this could be relevant.

Thanks,

Paul
