Win 98 displayed files in folders in ascii sequence, but XP tries to be clever and sort by perceived numbers, thus 81f is considered less than 796. I use a base-36 date system where a=10, f=15... v=31 so I can store the date in 3 symbols, (e.g. 796= 6 Sep 2007, 81f= 15 Jan 2008) so I'd prefer to go back to ascii sequence. I can't find a setting in Folder Settings to do this: is there another way? -- pad
