First this post is not regarding xmla, so I recommend to post your question
in the .olap newsgroup.
second, could you explain whats appends exaclty?
you can have IIS on the same server as your AS server.
the msolap.asp file could be copied in the root folder or in a dedicated
virtual folder (I recommand this option)
make sure that the "anonymous" access is disabled for the virutal folder or
for the msolap.asp file.
Activate the NT authentication and/or the basic authentication.
make sure you have defined 1 or more roles in your AS cubes, if there is no
roles defined, you can't access the cubes.
if you have Windows 2003, make sure you authorize IIS to run ASP files,
because, by default ASP file are locked in IIS 6.0.
