Re: Ideal loading
I set resource availability to a value between 60% to 75% for my projects,
depending on the experience levels of the team and the environment in which
the team is working.
It doesn't surprise me, though, to see that 61.54% of "management" believe
that they can get 75% to 100% availability from their staff. I presume that
this results from the belief that team members will add their own buffer or
"fudge factor" into their task duration estimates. Of course, as we all
know, buffer time should be owned and managed by Program Management based on
the amount of risk involved in the project.

Hello,
I have the following question: What do you think, what is the ideal loading
for a man in his/her work? 60%? 80%? About 100%?
I'm asking it because I've made a survey about the Hungarian software
companies, and the result is:
below 50% : 7,69%
between 50 - 60%: 13.46%
between 60-75%: 17.31%
between 75-90%: 32.69%
above 90%: 28.85%
I think, the ideal value is around 60%, because the people need time for
learning and resting etc. too.
What do you think?
Is it any document/white paper about this topic? Can I found some pros and
cons somewhere?
Thanks a lot,
Agnes
