msf
Is MSF designed for software development or for
infrastructure planning and design or a combination of
both?

Re: msf
MSF 3.0 is "build IT right" where IT includes software projects and
infrastructure planning.
Take a look at "Windows Server System Reference Architecture"
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/itsolutions/wssra/raguide/default.mspx is a
good example of MSF and MOF for infrastructure.

Re: msf
MSF 4 is most certainly meant for software development - especially the
Agile content.

Hello Callie,
Unfortunately I am unaware of any practise exams for this exam as yet - too
few people sitting the exam as yet to make the development of such an exam
profitable

If you look at it, both MSF Agile and MSF CMMI are both agile processes!

The process model of MSF CMMI is not "strictly" agile... But the rest is
very similar...

True. Nevertheless - MS are pushing MSF-CMMI as an agile process.
Personally, I see it as a move away from a framework and more towards a
methodology.

Agree. MSF 4 is much more a methodology than a framework.
I've already taught a selfmade course about MSF 4 (both versions) and my
approach to the course was very different from the classic MSF MOC, because
of the changes in MSF.

The "framework" part of MSF is still present, because I think that you
cannot use it "as is" but you need to customize it and customize the tool,
but the kind of guidance already in it and the tool support was indeed very
useful.

I hope that there will be a increased demand about MSF, because it can
really help developing better software.
