Reverse geocoding problem a data error or am I doing something wro
When I do a reverse geocode of latitude=45.00858,longitude=-73.45207 I get 4
locations as expected, the closest is in Quebec, while the other three are in
New York state - so far no problem.

The problem is: for the closest location, the CountryRegion field in the
Address says United States whereas I would expect it to say Canada. Why does
it do this? Is it a MapPoint data error or am I somehow misinterpreting the
results?

Chris Pankhurst

P.S.
A reverse geocode of latitude=45.00859,longitude=-73.45207 (i.e. going north
by 0.00001 of a degree) correctly (?) says Canada and
latitude=45.00855,longitude=-73.45207 correctly (?) says United States.

RE: Reverse geocoding problem a data error or am I doing something wro
Hi,

This behaviour only occurs when reverse geocoding along Border lines. I've
seen similar issues when reverse geocoding along US/Mexico border. That
being said, I believe this issue is caused by a fault in the MWS data which I
unfortunately don't see any way of getting around.

Regards,
